Spot the Hummingbird
One of the things that most amazes me about birding is how quickly the children become attuned to knowing and spotting, and just how amazing eyes, especially young eyes, are! We will be sitting on the couch inside and someone will yell out "hummingbird!" and the hunt is on. Here's a small photo-journey of the experience because I am in awe of how they notice the tiny bird, and not so impressed with how long it takes me.
Spot the hummingbird?
How about now?
Okay, I think I'm seeing something...
Yep! There it is!
Hello there, Hummingbird!
"Uh-Oh! I've been spotted!"
Seriously, to be sitting on the couch looking at that first picture...there's an overwhelming amount of information to take in and possibilities everywhere- how do they do it?? The beauty is in the knowing where to look and what to be looking for- you see all kinds of things you've never seen before with that kind of knowledge and understanding! I'm thankful for the good mental and visual challenge and training these kids are getting and giving me.
